RAYMOND SACKLER Obituary
Weill Cornell Medicine mourns the passing of longtime benefactor Dr. Raymond Sackler, who, along with his wife Beverly, generously supported biomedical and cancer research through the Raymond and Beverly Sackler Center for Biomedical and Physical Sciences, as well as faculty development through the Raymond and Beverly Sackler Research Scholar Award and sponsored lectureships. Dr. Sackler was a friend and mentor with an enduring passion for medical discovery and philanthropy. Our deepest condolences to his wife and sons Richard and Jonathan, their family and friends. Although I never met Dr Sackler, his generosity and vision is living with us through my daughter who is attending Sackler University in Tele Aviv. Through this USA medical program and the ability for her to use Federal Loans, she is working on a dream come true, helping others through Medicine. Dr. Sackler gave so much and has helped so much. He is a hero in so many ways. He will always be appreciated and live through those who will carry his dream on. Thoughts and prayers including appreciation and gratitude go to Dr. Sackler and his family. Condolences, the world has lost a special person.

My sincerest condolences on the loss of Dr. Raymond,he was an amazing person, and I'm sure that he will be deeply missed. I worked as a temp f0r 10 years at Purdue Pharma and was always fascinated by the company's history going back to its early days in NYC.

I first met Dr Raymond when I was in the training department at the Bissell House in Norwalk.At this time Dr Raymond would meet all the new hires. The new hires after each visit where so impressed that one of the co- founders would always find time to meet and welcome them to the Purdue Family. My deepest condolences to the Sackler Family he will be missed but his legacy will live on.
