RENE PUJOL Obituary

PUJOL--Rene. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rene Pujol on November 14, 2018 at his home in Point Lookout, NY with his family. by his side. Rene immigrated from France to New York in 1949. Following in his brothers footsteps all successful restaurateurs (Du Midi, Pierre Au Tunnel and Les Pyrenees) he opened Rene Pujol restaurant in Manhattan's Theater District. Serving good food and making his customers happy were his greatest accomplishments as well as being a wonderful husband and father. He is survived by his wife, Helene, daughters, Monique and Nicole and grandchildren, Nathalie and Claude Rene. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 13 from 10am to 12pm at Crestwood Funeral Home, 445 West 43rd St., NYC.

My deepest condolences to all the family. Rene was a kind, gracious gentleman and wonderful host. My family, friends and I cherish the great memories of visiting our favorite restaurant over many years. In sadness and joy we celebrate his life.
