Our annual NANPA board meeting is today (8/26). I always feel Rich's presence in these meetings and can see the wisdom in his eyes and that knowing smile on his face. I think he enjoyed his annual visit to the leather works store there in St. Louis more than the meetings. I cherish his memory and I'm a better person for having known Rich

Everytime a client needs a trust expert, I still think of Richard. It was a pleasure to deal with him all those years. He had a large vision of his field. I miss discussing trust legal issues with him. He was an expert and such an interesting person. I love his sense of humour. I miss him.

The wonderful soul and smile of Rich will always be a part of me. I still feel his presence and in every NANPA board meeting I wonder "What wisdom would Rich share?".

I found Richard through my accountant in Montreal. He was a guiding light for my daughter when she started her business in New York. He was so kind to her, I met him once while I was visiting and was so taken by his charm and intelligence and generosity toward a young girl starting her career! He gave us a tour of his photographs and raved about his wife Jane! He was very compassionate to my daughter and I since I had recently lost my husband. He had a love of life and passion for his art which was obvious in just one short meeting. My daughter caroline is very saddened by his passing. And to Jane, I haven't met you but I know what you are going through, I am so sorry.

I'll always remember Rich's smile and infectious humor. It was an honor to have served with him on the board of NANPA and listen to his wisdom and passion for all things photography.

Rich was one of the nicest, wittiest, most sincere and honest people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.

I only wish I could have known him longer.

He will be missed!

For a number of years Rich and I exchanged friendly banter at board meetings and at NANPA Summits. It was a pleasure to know him and his quick wit and smile. I know he will be missed. Prayers for Jane and his family during this difficult time.

We have been observing, documenting and proselytizing about the fragility of life on this planet for so many years that we forget that we, too, are among the vulnerable life forms. Breathtaking beauty, life, continues with us forever, enlightening all of us. Rich's earthly form may be missed but his life's work lives on. May you have strength, Jane.

Rich was our rock duing our NANPA board meetings and the captain who stedied the ship when things needed the voice of reason. I'll miss Rich's great humor as well. Please accept my sincere condolences and thoughts in this time of sadness.--Jack Graham

My deepest condolences to Jane and the family. Richard was a true friend and mentor. It wasn't just that he was a brilliant legal mind but, in addition, you knew how much he cared about the client and getting the best result. On a personal note, I will never forget how he always took the time to find out how things were going in my practice and my life generally. He was respected and loved by many and we will miss him.

I was so saddened to hear of Rich's passing. I will miss him greatly, along with his dry wit, measured and intelligent contributions to NANPA and the board, and most especially his loyalty and friendship. My sincerest condolences to you, Jane, through this very difficult time. He will be sorely missed.

My sincerest condolences to Jane on the passing of her beloved husband Richard. Richard's life and mine intersected at many turns-- shared law firms, shared tax dinner clubs, counsel on consolidated tax litigation--all extremely very pleasurable and intellectually stimulating. More recently I had the opportunity of working with Jane on various matters at Reitlers. It was clear that Richard was the love of her life. May you be comforted, Jane, with the wonderful memories of your life together with Richard.

Although I had never had the pleasure of meeting him face to face, I spoke to Richard several times in transborder tax files. I really loved the fact that he always took the time to talk about life, laugh, and even speak a little bit of French, to lighten the mood! What a brilliant lawyer and person he was. He will be missed. I am very sorry for your loss.

My condolences to Jane and Rich's family. I knew Rich for at least a decade and always looked forward to talking with him. There was something about catching his eye from across the room and seeing that neat smile. Then there'd be interesting stories about his latest travels with Jane or his latest photography undertaking. I so much enjoyed serving on the Board of NANPA with him. His was always the voice of reason and logic. I trusted his legal mind and sage wisdom. He made an impact on my life and I'll miss him.

A brilliant, intelligent man who loved his family more than anything in life as evidenced by how his eyes lit up whenever he talked about them, yet a man who found the time to use his vast talents to help fight for the rights of nature photographers worldwide. I know that my life is better for having been fortunate enough to have been able to laugh with him, to share thoughts and ideas with him and to be able to call him my friend. A piece of my mind and heart will always hold Rich close. Love you Rich.
