83, on January 19, 2017. Beloved husband of the late Aileen. Devoted father of Andy, Wendy and Hilary. Cherished grandfather of Amelia, Daisy, Theo, Noa, Talia, Ella, and Jonah. Graduate of Yale University and Yale Law School. Passionate about practicing and teaching law, politics, sports, Shelter Island, and his family. Service Monday, January 23, 12 noon at "The Riverside," 76 St and Amsterdam Ave. Donations in his memory may be made to The Legal Aid Society of New York.

There is a gift in every moment of our lives and even in dying. For Richard Missan the gift is silence and peace now. I did not know Richard, but I do know he must have been a good man because he has an amazing son, Andy, and family in our community. With heartfelt thoughts and prayers to all the many wonderful Missan Family members.
