I am so deeply sad to hear of Dick's passing. I met him in 1977 when I joined Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler as a 19 year old legal secretary. He was always such a pleasant, friendly, great guy. I also worked closely with Harry Albright, a great friend of Dick's, at the time that Dick left the Firm, went to the Dime, and Harry left the Dime and joined PWBT. My heart is sad to know he's gone, but he made such a huge contribution to this world and will always be loved and remembered. God bless and rest in peace, my dear friend.

His elegance, wit, and brilliance will be missed. A statesman, a diplomat, a strategist like no other. I was blessed to share time with him, I´m better for it.

To the family and all who has the pleasure to meet this remarkable human being. Thank you for sharing him with the world. I met him at Albany Law School over 20 years ago. He did not share that planned to attend a naming ceremony as we renamed our Gymnasium for a retiring long term maintenance supervisor. Mr. Parsons simply showed up -as he wanted to simply honor him and thank him for encouraging and giving him a p/time job while he was a student. Mr. Parsons talked about how knowing him made him a better person and lawyer. As a new employee at the time - this statement stood with me to this day. Thank you Mr. Parsons for always remembering and showing love to those who lifted you up. May you rest in peace.

This man was a special human being that I was blessed to work for in the mid-80 & 90s at The Dime as one of seven minority LPRs that grew the Dime tremendously. We reported to Dick who took the time to personally know each of us. He had a brilliant mind . . . . a true pioneer in business who taught me a lot but always remaining humble, kind, compassionate, and daring to go where no one (particularly a man of color) had gone before. I sent my heartfelt condolences to his family and he will remain a light in many people's lives forever. Rest in peace. Job well done my good and faithful servant. Wish I'd known you were battling myeloma as my husband George battled pancreatic cancer 11 years ago.
