RICHARD PERLBINDER Obituary

PERLBINDER--Richard. Richard Perlbinder, a man whose thirst for knowledge, mystical spirit, and boundless empathy touched countless lives, passed away on December 10, 2024 at the age of 69. To those who knew him, Richard was more than a family member or friend--he was a seeker of truth, a kind and gentle soul, and a transcendent presence who made the world brighter simply by being in it. A lifelong student and avid reader, Richard was driven by an insatiable curiosity about the mysteries of existence. His love for learning was not limited to facts and ideas--it expanded his capacity for empathy, helping him connect deeply with others. He had a rare gift for making everyone feel seen, important, and understood approaching every conversation with sincerity, humility, and kindness. Beloved son of the late Arnold and Grayce (Levin) Perlbinder, Richard served Congregation B'Nai Sholom-Beth David in Rockville Center as their esteemed Ritual Director for 24 years. He is survived by his sisters Mallory (Alan Caplan), Lisa (Tom Porter), brother, Roger, uncle, Michael Levin, and loving nieces and nephews, Danielle (Kipton), Philip (Raquel), David (Michelle), Victoria, Carley (Andrew), Addison, and Emily. This may seem odd, I bought a used book online, it has a stamp in it which intrigued me so I did a search for him. I am sure this was his book with no other information than this name and obituary. I wanted to send my condolences and also my proof that he is still with you all and still showing up to spread love and knowledge in this world. He sounds like he was a wonderful person and exceptional spirit. I am sending love along with this message because the world needs more of that.

Richard was one of the kindest person I have ever met. We worked together for many years. We often spoke over text on his birthday and whenever we would think of each other. He always wished me well with my daughters. I just found out today that he passed away and I´m devastated. I pray for healing for his family.

Richard was such an incredible man. He was truly a blessing in my families life. I´m so lucky that he was my cousin and I got to get to know him through your my life. Hearing his voice every night was comforting. When he came to visit my Bubbe it was always so special to her as well as to my mom and I. We love you so very much Richard. I know Bubbe welcomed you with open arms into the gates of heaven. You will be greatly missed
