RICHARD RIKER

1933 - 2021

RIKER--Richard John. We mourn the loss and celebrate the life of Richard John Riker, February 1933 - July 28, 2021. A noble man, a gentleman and humanitarian. He is the son of the late Helene and Dr. John Lawrence Riker, stepson of Cornelia Riker Hervey-Bathurst of NYC. He is a direct descendant of the Riker families in New Amsterdam - now New York City, 1635. Richard led a wonderful and intellectual life, playing bridge with his grandmother at 10 years old. Later he attended and graduated from Phillips Andover 1950, Harvard University 1954 and Columbia University Law School, thus becoming an Attorney and entrepreneur of businesses. He served our Country as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force; later he flew his own plane. He is a member of many clubs, societies and charitable organization. He participated in sports - had hobbies too. He loved his families, friends and colleagues. He is survived by his wife Ronnie S. Riker; daughter Anne Rose; sons Richard Story, John BL ("Jackson" and wife Kirsten Riker); sister Cornelia; Anne Weil; a sweet Cocker Spaniel; 9 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by son William and brother John Riker. Richard is a man with style and faith with a gentle soul and we pray he is at peace with the Lord. A Memorial is being planned.
