DEHNEY--Robert Francis,

of Glen Cove, NY and North Redington Beach, FL, passed away in Florida on February 10, 2018. Robert "Bob" Dehney was born on June 26, 1938 in Brooklyn, NY. He graduated from Xavier Military Academy, Mount St. Mary's College, Maryland Law School and NYU where he received an LLM in Tax Law. Bob Dehney, above all, cared about family, community, and especially children. He coached youth baseball, softball and football for the City of Glen Cove. When the football league shut down, Mr. Dehney resurrected it. He also coached the Glen Cove High School JV football team, as well as the football team at Grenville Baker Boys and Girls Club. He started Meals on Wheels in Glen Cove. Mr. Dehney practiced Tax Law for 54 years and was a member of the New York State Bar Association where he served as Chairman of the Tax Law Committee. In Glen Cove, Mr. Dehney was a former Chairman of the Zoning Board, the City Attorney and a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Elks Club. Mr. Dehney is survived by his wife of 54 years, Wanita M. Dehney, his sons, Robert J. Dehney (Christine) and Michael R. Dehney (Marianne), his daughters, Andrea DiCostanzo (Frank) and Nicole Callahan (Joseph) and his sister, Mary Louise Monaghan (Terrence). He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Robert, Jr., Christopher, Caroline, Matthew, Gabrielle, Caitlin, Isabella and Madelyn. Visitation was held on February 12, 2018 followed by Mass. A Celebration of Life will be held on March 24, 2018 at Antonette's of East Hills, Roslyn Heights, NY at 5:30pm.
