ROBERT FISKE

FISKE--Robert B., Jr. Davis Polk mourns the loss of our beloved friend and former partner Bob Fiske. Born in Brooklyn in 1930, Bob received his B.A. from Yale College in 1952 and his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School in 1955. He joined Davis Polk in 1955 and was elected to the partnership in 1964. At Davis Polk, Bob focused on white-collar crime, professional liability, securities and products liability matters, and he is widely credited for the popularization of white-collar defense as a large law firm practice area. Over the course of his 70 years practicing law, Bob was called upon many times to serve the U.S. government - including as U.S. Attorney in the SDNY and Independent Counsel in the Whitewater investigation. In addition to his extraordinary accomplishments and remarkable intellect, Bob will be remembered for his inspiring leadership and incomparable character. He will be greatly missed by the entire Davis Polk community. Our deepest sympathies are with Bob's wife, Janet, and the entire Fiske family.
