ROBERT GLAISEK

GLAISEK--Robert (Bob) Alan. Bob passed away peacefully on October 30, 2025 in Toronto a week before his 92nd birthday. He was pre-deceased by his wife Carolyn. He will be dearly missed by his only son Christopher, grandsons Mylo and Kai, and daughter-in-law Kyra Clarkson. Bob was a talented painter and visual artist who grew up in The Bronx in a family of musicians. He attended the High School of Industrial Arts in Manhattan. Drafted in 1956, he served as a technical illustrator at White Sands Missile Range, NM where his monumental mural artwork remains on permanent view. He moved to Mexico City to study art, which sparked a lifelong interest in international politics. Bob opened an art gallery in Provincetown, MA in the early 1960s. He then established a studio in Englewood, NJ and began teaching life drawing and painting. His unique methodology and dedication to his students earned him a loyal following. Bob moved his studio to Nyack, NY and taught popular courses at the Old Church Cultural Center in Demarest, NJ for the last thirty years of his career. Bob will forever be remembered as a beloved art instructor and mentor. His lifelong commitment to making art culminated in a solo exhibit in Chelsea in the 1990s. A celebration of Bob's life is being planned for the spring.
