I was fortunate to have known Bob for almost 40 years, ever since my PhD days in Cologne. Over the decades, we stayed in touch and shared many wonderful moments together - from a concert with Pavarotti in Central Park to unforgettable evenings at the Metropolitan Opera in New York and the opera houses in Cologne and Munich.
Bob and Lydia were like second parents to me. My visits to their home in New Jersey were always filled with warmth, kindness, and laughter. I will always remember Bob´s generosity, wisdom, and his deep love for music and people. His spirit will stay with all of us who were lucky enough to know him.
