Robert Policastro Obituary

1952 - 2013
Robert "Bob" Policastro, 60, died suddenly on June 29, 2013 in Tampa, Florida. He was born in New York City on November 2, 1952 to Alfred and Jean Policastro. He attended Fordham Prep and then Fordham College, where he received his Bachelor of Arts in 1973. He received his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Notre Dame in 1976.

He resided for nearly 30 years on the north side of Chicago and was a real estate developer by trade. He spent countless hours helping his children, Matthew, Timothy, Andrew and Sebastian, with their schoolwork and coaching them in soccer, basketball and baseball.

He loved history, classic cars, tennis, Rock & Roll and Notre Dame football. For years he explored the beaches, woods and farmlands of Southwest Michigan with his children in and around their summer home in Buchanan. He loved to build things and always had big dreams.

He is survived by his sons, his father, Alfred Policastro, his two sisters, Jean McGuire and Andrea Policastro, and their families. He was loved by many and will be dearly missed. Services will be held on Saturday, July 20th, 2013 at 12:00 P.M. at The Church of the Epiphany, 239 E. 21st Street, New York, NY. A private memorial will be held in Chicago at a later date.

I got to know Robert in the most unlikely place. He was a good friend and we shared many of the same interests and hobbies, but most importantly his love of family. My prayers
go out to his family. Know that "Bob" will be remembered and his life celebrated by those that his life touched...

Your father's true legacy will always be the character of his four sons that he helped to mold in his own way and to the extent that he could.

Please accept our deepest condolences on your loss.

My prayers go out to his family. I met Mr. Policastro on vacation in Morgantown WV. He was a very intelligent and caring individual. He stayed in shape with his exercises and kept himself active. I am still in shock but I know that he is resting in paradise. May god bless
