SCOTT SIMPSON Obituary

SIMPSON--Scott Victor. The partners, attorneys and professional staff of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP mourn the loss of our friend and longtime partner, Scott Simpson. Scott, who this year was marking 40 years with Skadden, passed away on May 28 at the age of 65. Scott spent his entire career at Skadden and was co-head of our global transactions practices. Known for his extraordinary intelligence, creativity and calm, even in the tensest of situations, he was one of the finest M&A lawyers of his generation. In 1990, as a young partner, Scott moved from New York to join our newly established London office. He ended up staying for 32 years and was instrumental in the success of our European platform. His unflinching dedication to the firm and our clients reflected the highest standards of his mentor, Joe Flom. Scott's talent, collegiality and joie de vivre will be sorely missed by colleagues globally. We extend our deepest condolences to his beloved wife, Kathleen; and his children, Caitlin, Victor and Mairead.

I was one of Scott´s teachers at Carle Place High School. He was a wonderful kid and very charismatic even then. So sorry to hear of his passing.
