I attended many of Sid's FAE 2 day tax seminars.
I was just listening to a Lee Slavutin life insurance webinar, and he mentioned that Sid had died recently. This made me sad because he was a wonderful person.
He was a national tax partner when I worked for Main Lafrentz.
In any case I had the opportunity to drive him home to Brooklyn, from Long Island after several of his classes.
He was always so appreciative, and sensitive to the fact that he was taking me away from my family. So he would have me stop at his favorite deli in Brighton Beach and buy bagels, nova scotia salmon and whitefish. He always asked me what my wife liked prior to the purchase.
Yup that was Sid, a genuine mensch. Rest in Peace my friend!

My firm was on the same office hallway as Sid's for many years. Sid would enjoy bringing us copies of his latest publications and letting us know where he would next be speaking, and always ask about what we were doing. One of Sid's most remarkable accomplishment was acting as a voluntary one man employment service. He found jobs for hundreds of folks. To do this, he needed to sincerely believe that each person he was helping was worthy. As others have written, he was a real mensch.

I took several tax seminars with Sid over the years. Great teacher, great man and a big loss to the accounting profession.
Rest in peace Sid. We will miss you.

Sid successfully coached me through the CPA exam and, as a fringe benefit, his course helped me get through a contracts course in my first year of law school. That was in 1960, and I’ve been attending his courses ever since, including recent on-line courses. It was hard to do any serious tax research without coming across an authoritative article he wrote.

Sid was a great and humble man of honor, as well a great tax educator. I enjoyed supporting his annual tax event at Baruch College. I recall seeing a magazine cover of Sid, "The Most Trusted Man in America" who will be missed. RIP Sid

Sid was one of my earliest supporters by inviting me to speak at many of his UJA conferences. His mentorship over the years is not forgotten. He was the embodiment of a real mensch and offered his valuable time to other colleagues. His wisdom and kindness will be missed by all who he touched. May his memory be a blessing

A pillar of the profession. I have a fond memory of meeting him on the D train traveling to "the city", me from my home at the time in Manhattan Beach and he from visiting, I believe, his parents in Brighton Beach.
