It has been a little over a year and we continue to miss you every day. you have impacted so many peoples lives with your strength intellegence wisdom athleticism kindness genorosity and beauty. Skylar was a great person...he was loved by many people! When i was told that he had died i could not stop thinking that it was all a bad dream. i may not have known him very well but i still feal the pain that a lot of other people feel in their hearts!!! He will always be in the good dreams that we all have and he will live forever in our hearts!

Its been 4 months and i guess its easier to speak over time. But in the past while ive been thinking about him, What he did, how he acted, how he dealt with life. And i realize one particular thing, and that was his strength. Not only his obvious physical strength, but his mental strength. Skylar learned to use his mental strengths to do what he believed in, whether it was using sympathy towards his friends, or standing up for things he thought was wrong. I loved Skylar, everyone did. He was a great guy to be around, and was a great example of a person who uses their strengths to help the world, something that few ever learn to do. I will miss his presence, and if you ever need anything, just ask.

its not fair that such a perfect child could be taken away in a heartbeat. Skylar nor the Tancredi family deserved this. Skylar had to much to live for, and to much love for any of this to happen. I want you to know that Sky you're in our prays, and so is the rest of your family. I know Sander and Sienna will be able to make it thru because of the amazing strength they posess from you. If you read this you dont know who I am, I went to camp with Skyler. I loved the kid so much. He was idle when I was in Pioneer. Almost every day I would come and play basketball with him. He was like a brother. You should be so proud of him because he was probably one of the best individuals I have ever met. He was a great person and he deffinetly made me a better one. I will always miss him and never forget him. I donate my honor medal to him from camp because he truely deserves it.

I am in Jamaica and received this devastating news when I checked my messages and called home. I was Skyler's English teacher in a very special 8th grade class of the most extraordinary kids I have taught in 14 years at Hastings. It is very difficult being here because Skyler loved Jamaica and we spoke fondly of it often. It is just heartbreaking being here so far from the people I need to be with. I hope you are as well as you can be.....I miss you all and will return on August 24th. It is hard to be in such a beautiful place with such a broken heart....somehow Skyler's spirit will always be on this island.....I sense it.

My heart goes out to you and your family on the loss of your precious child. I too am familiar with a tragic loss involving my daughter recently. There is nothing more horrific than losing a child and learning to live as a family without their physical presence. You have so many changes ahead of you and can only take a one moment at a time. My heart goes out to Siena and Sander, no children should have to witness the loss of a sibling. People say that children our resillent and they bounce back, but they are just minature adults and they hurt just like us. My thoughts and prayers are with you and all of your family and friends as this horrific tragedy will affect all of you. Cherish the beautiful memories you have of Skylar and your family.
