STEPHEN BARKIN

BARKIN--Stephen. Loving husband of Madeline. Very proud father of Dr. Elizabeth Barkin Leight (Nathan) and Dr. Jeffrey Barkin (Joan). Cheerleader of grandchildren: Rachel, Jesse (Hazel), Lilli (Michael) Jennifer, Bruce, and Keith. Steve was very committed to community work. He was a longtime board member of Temple Israel and served as Chairman of the Ushers Committee for the High Holy Days. He was also a board member of the Lenox School and the Glaucoma Foundation. He was very active in New York's Real Estate community and served as President of the National Realty Club. Commitment to his family was his highest priority. He was an avid amateur photographer, taking pictures of family and friends. He loved classical music and his favorite was Sebastian Bach. Stephen felt his life was complete and worthwhile and wishes all good things to those who follow him. Funeral service will be on Tuesday at 9:30 am, at Frank E. Campbell Funeral Home, 1076 Madison Avenue, NYC. Interment to follow at Wellwood Cemetery, West Babylon, NY. Shiva will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday from 5:30 - 8:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Glaucoma Foundation in Stephen's honor would be most welcome.
