STEVEN LOW Obituary

LOW--Steven. Canadian citizen, born Severin Lwow in Lwow, Poland, on May 26, 1932, to Shimon Lwow and Bertha Lwow nee Vogelfanger died on May 19, 2024, at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA, USA, of cardiac failure after a pulmonary aspiration secondary to Lewy Body Dementia. He was the ultimate fighter, a brilliant and energetic man with a mathematical mind who systematically defied the odds throughout his life, from a youth salvaged out of the fires of the Warsaw Ghetto; to coming to Canada penniless, one of three Holocaust survivors out of a family of 35; to at 19 years old impressing and being recruited by entrepreneur Joseph Hirshhorn and working in stock trading and uranium exploration in Canada, becoming the youngest college dropout and self-made man in North America; to creating an empire in copper mining in South America and in oil in the Middle East; to rebuilding himself in the Pharma, Electronics and Telecom industries in post-Soviet Union Russia following complete financial ruin, imprisonment, divorce, and cancer; to bravely facing Parkinson's and Dementia for years; to literally coming back to life twice in the hospital, where his son Philip was by his side all the way to his last breath and beyond. Steven Low was the Personification of Strength, an Adventurous and Intrepid Phoenix who always thought BIG and whose true Religion was Life and Love. He was the embodiment of the Triumph of the Human Spirit, of Hope and Curiosity over Fear, and of Resilience over Adversity, and will always be. He is survived by his children Michael, Andrea, Veronica, Patricia and Philip, by his ex-wives Elizabeth and Sonja, by his grandsons Yannick and Elias, by his great-granddaughter Ysabelle, and by his first cousin Mark Rozanski, his wife Helen, and their children, Peter and Johanna. N.B. If you would like to honor his legacy, given that he was a man of audacity and action, take stock of yourself, think BIG, and "do the impossible."

To have lived with every fibre of his being is truly an inspiration.
My deepest condolences for a man I never met. The last line of the obituary is most heartening. Thank you.
