Very sad and shocked to hear of Susan's passing. Since Washington,D.C. I knew both Susan and Nina as they formed ICI, and I admired their great achievements on the private side (as I managed the Department of State's international art program). Her wonderful Art21 films took us eloquently and sensitively into the world of each artist and made a lasting contribution to the arts. She shared her vision and insight in an engaging way that made art accessible to all. She will be sadly missed. My heartfelt condolences to her family and Art21 colleagues, Meredith Palmer, NY

I was so very sorry to hear of Susan's passing. While I didn't know her well, I was intimately familiar with Art21 since its inception. I still recount the stories of the NEA panelists who were unfamiliar with the series but so taken with her work samples that they became avid viewers of the online content. Her vision and commitment to the arts was unique and will be missed.

It was an honor to know Susan. I loved bumping into her on the street when Art21 moved right around the corner from FIT. Her work will live on enriching the lives of many - in my own life as an arts educator, my colleagues and I use the documentation of artists she created constantly in our teaching. Miss you much already, Susan.

My deepest condolences will go to her family and colleagues.
The sudden loss of my dear friend Sue was a great shock, she was indeed a great woman. I will be missing her greatly.

I am so sad to hear this news. Susan Sollins was my room mate at Vassar College for two years 1956-1958. She was
a vastly intelligent and kind and funny
and wise young one. I was lucky to know her and be with her during that period, she working at the studio, and I beginning my journey with poetry.
My condolences and affection and good
thoughts go out to her family at this sad time. She was a force for art and
a compassionate presence in this troubled world. VIVA Sue Sollins.

Please accept my condolences. I had the honor to meet Susan first in her capacity as the diligent and generous guardian of Earle Browne's legacy and then socially and in connection of course with her work for the arts and broadcasting. She was a fabulous person who leaves behind much that is positive and enduring in the cultural world.

Susan was a major force in the art world. Her energy and ideas will be missed but she leaves us all with a great legacy of work to inspire us. When Susan smiled at you her eyes sparkled and you felt all the goodwill in the world was being heaped upon you. The MacDowell Colony benefited from her intelligence, quest for excellence, and generous impulses. She will be missed.
