SUZANNE WUNDERMAN Obituary

WUNDERMAN--Suzanne. The Trustees and staff of The Metropolitan Museum of Art mourn the passing of Suzanne Wunderman, Benefactor and beloved supporter of the Museum for more than 40 years. Along with her late husband, Lester, who was also a Museum Benefactor, Suzanne had a keen interest in Dogon art, a passion that was deepened by a trip to Mali together early in their relationship. She and Lester were cherished friends to the Department of the Arts of Africa, Oceania, and the Americas, donating many important works of art and supporting the department's exhibitions and initiatives over many years. We are grateful to Suzanne for her service to the Museum, and we extend our deep condolences to her family. Candace Beinecke, Co-Chair; Hamilton E. James, Co-Chair; Daniel H. Weiss, President and CEO; Max Hollein, Marina Kellen French Director

She was quite accomplished academically, and was a wunderkind. Also quite the looker in her day, she attracted men of both substance and means. I am sorry to learn of her passing. Condolences to the family.
