SYLVIA MOSS

MOSS--Sylvia, 79, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 13th. She grew up in Brooklyn, attended Tilden High School, and then went to Adelphi University where she was president of the class of 1964. Sylvia began her career in publishing and then worked in senior management jobs at Kramer Levin, Chadbourne & Parke and Schulte Roth & Zabel. Sylvia was a partner at Blackstone where she held the senior leadership position of Chief Administrative Officer. Sylvia was an ACBL Grand Life Master in Bridge. She won 10 North American Championships, and multiple world medals. She was a renowned fierce competitor, but always gracious to partners, teammates and opponents alike. Sylvia was brilliant, loving and generous. She established a scholarship fund to provide resources to students in need at her alma mater, Adelphi University. She is survived by her brother, Marvin Hartstein, her sister-in-law, Joyce Hartstein, her niece and nephew Elise and Rob Kipness, her great- nephews Justin and Ryan Kipness, her stepsons Brad and Andrew Moss, and a large network of loving family and friends. The funeral will be held on Thursday, September 15th at 11:30 at the Riverside Memorial Chapel, NYC.
