TERRY KASSEL Obituary

KASSEL--Terry Sonkin, 64, died June 12 at her home in Chapel Hill, North Carolina after a short illness. Terry was a pioneer in the field of Sports Marketing, having held the position of Senior Vice President at Major League Baseball for 16 years. Later, she formed her own marketing firm, Kassel Marketing, with MLB as one of her clients, in addition to the LPGA, the America's Cup, and the National Hockey League. She graduated from Walnut Hills High School in Cincinnati, Ohio, attended Syracuse University, and graduated from the University of Cincinnati. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Robert Silverman; her children: Beth Kassel, Coral Gables, FL; Matt and Caroline Kassel, Stamford, CT; and Patty and Dan Schwab, Harrisburg, PA; her brother and sister-in-law, Dr. David and Anna Sonkin; and her adoring grandchildren, Madison, Alexa, and Sammy Schwab and Benjamin and Sydney Kassel, who will lovingly remember her as "Bia."

Terry was a wonderful business partner, while I rented space from her in 1992 for my fledgling sports marketing business..she was the BEST! I will miss her so. My prayers are with her, and her family...

I am so saddened to hear of Terry's death. I enjoyed playing golf with Terry. Bob you are in our thoughts and prayers. I am sorry I di not no sooner, i just heard.
