TAUBE--Thaddeus "Tad". With deep sadness, we share that Tad Taube passed away at his home in San Mateo County. Tad Taube was a visionary entrepreneur, strategic philanthropist, and devoted civic leader whose legacy spans continents and generations. A refugee from Poland, he built a distinguished career in real estate and philanthropy. He was instrumental in advancing education, healthcare, the arts, and Jewish life in the United States, Israel, and Poland. He championed principles of liberty, free enterprise, and human dignity, strengthening institutions ranging from Stanford University to Warsaw's POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews. A prominent advocate for Jewish Peoplehood, Tad worked to revitalize Jewish culture and identity worldwide. He fostered Jewish community life in the Bay Area, supported leading institutions in Israel, and returned to his native Poland to help restore Jewish life in the post-Communist era, efforts that earned him Poland's highest civilian honor and an appointment as Honorary Consul. His generosity, Intellect, and unshakable sense of purpose touched countless lives, from at-risk youth in California to scholars, athletes, artists, and community builders across the globe. He is survived by his wife, Dianne, and his children Mark, Paula, Sean, Juddson, Travis, and Zakary, who continue his legacy through Taube Philanthropies. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Tad's memory may be directed to American Friends of the POLIN Museum in New York or to Ronald McDonald House Charities at Stanford University.
