THERESE MOLLOY Obituary

MOLLOY--Therese M. The Board and staff of Greater Jamaica Development Corporation mourn the loss of Terry Molloy, whose exemplary personal and profession roles in the rebuilding of Jamaica, Queens were profound. Representing Chase Bank as a Director of GJDC and its chair for five years, she championed the political and public advocacy and development of York College and the decision to build a new Queens Family Court in Jamaica. Following retirement from banking, she secured at age 65, a degree from the City University of New York Law School and actively practiced, often pro bono, in the Family Court, where she initiated pioneering visitation programs. With the Queens County Bar, Queens Borough President and GJDC, she led in the effort to replace an outdated Family Court structure with a new and larger exceptionally hospitable court. Her exceptional, engaging commitments and leadership in the business and government communities are irreplaceable. Our grief is tempered by the special and significant contributions she made to community development for the citizens of Queens. F. Carlisle Towery, President

Terry was a fantastic person; a kind, caring person; a unique person; a person whom no one will ever forget. We met in law school and developed an enduring, caring friendship. I will miss her dearly and think of her always! You are the greatest!!!!!!

Terry was an exceptional person. She enthused compassion, passion and empathy together with drive, purpose and wit. She led a purposeful life until the day she passed and she was a wonderful, inclusive friend to my mom, whom she met at CUNY law as a fellow student. I thank her for loving my mother, for helping me, for providing an extended family to my mom, and for being a tireless advocate until her voice was silenced. Her legacy will live on through the lives of those she touched and in the hearts of those who loved her.

Grandma always loved me. Whether across the country or in her living room. I am so thankful that I had a week with her to myself this August. She inspires me to be better, to give selflessly, and to find love in my life. Thanks Grandma.

Although I never got the opportunity to tell her,I am honored to say that Mrs. Molloy was indeed my mentor. I joined Chase in October 1969 and worked with her for quite a period of time. She was a professional, knowledgeable, bright and brilliant individual who really cared about all people. She also had a tremendous sense of humor. All who knew and worked with her as I did will truly miss her. May God bless the family during this difficult time!

I will miss my Aunt Terry. She touched my life in many ways that no one will ever know. I loved her in a special way. She was my godmother. You have brought much love to all whose lives you touched. Rest in peace Aunt Terry and be reunited with my mom, Uncle Sean and Aunt Della who died as a little girl. Still can't believe you are gone. Our sympathies to the entire Molloy Family. Love Eileen
