THOMAS GILMORE Obituary

GILMORE--Thomas North, Thomas North Gilmore of Philadelphia, PA, died peacefully on July 20, 2024 after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Beloved husband of Sally Walker, devoted father to Walker (Jane) and Justin, and cherished grandfather to Avery, Beckett, Maya, and Max. A graduate of Phillips Academy Andover, Harvard University, and the University of Pennsylvania, he was a dedicated and skilled wrestler at the high school and collegiate level, serving as Captain of the Harvard wrestling team his senior year. Described by those that knew him as "brilliant and lovable," he was a thoughtful and generous collaborator in his role as one of the principal founders and Vice President of CFAR (Center For Applied Research). His book "Making A Leadership Change" remains a respected and influential work in the field of business and management consulting. He was an avid tennis player, bike rider, wind surfer, cook, nature lover, and reader. He brought enthusiasm and sincerity to everything he focused his time on, and he leaves behind a legacy of loving and appreciative people who are so grateful for the opportunity to have had him in their lives. Interred at Laurel Hill West Cemetery, with a private celebration of life to follow in October. In lieu of flowers, please plant a tree in his honor, or donations can be made in his name to alz.org as well as DoctorsWithoutBorders.org
