Graveside service for Brenda Lyles-Bass, 65, of Opelika, AL, will be at 12:00 noon, Saturday, January 9, 2021, at Westview Cemetery, 700 Westivew Drive, Auburn, AL 36830, Reverend Henry Ligon will officiate.
Mrs. Bass, who passed away Monday, January 4, 2021 at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, AL, was born October 16, 1955 in Macon County, Alabama.
Public viewing for Mrs. Bass will be Friday, January 8, 2021, from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m.
She leaves to cherish her memory: five children, Christopher Lyles, Jeffrey (Latasha) Lyles, Jacqueline Felicia Lyles, Camerial (Anthony) Rowe and Aretha "Latasha" Lyles (John) all of Opelika, AL; three brothers, Frank (Marilyn) Marshall, Jr. of Opelika, AL, Steve Thomas of Auburn, AL and Bobby Marshall of Syracuse, NY; two sisters, Barbara Dorsey of Opelika, AL and Valerie Marshall of Auburn, AL; fifteen grandchildren, Brentoria Tanner, Ebony Tanner, Jakiel Simmons, Myrteila (Dontavis) Welcher, Laderrian Prince (Raven), Jaderrian Prince, Mark Greathouse, Mychael Felton, Jefresia Gary, Jaquez Spinks, J'Aril Lyles, Jamir Thomas, Iikeem Colquitt, Brandon Howard and Jaquan Howard; nine great-grandchildren, Carmen Collier, Justin Patterson, Jaden Lyles, Karlee Patterson, Emori Beaver, Kyson Willis, Ivy Baker, Braxton Willis and Major Greathouse; three devoted nieces, Dr. Frankie (Felix) Bell, Charkeithia Dorsey and LeShunte Holland all of Opelika, AL; god-daughters, Vontressa Foreman and Sherry Brooks both of Auburn, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
CDC recommends that people wear cloth face coverings in public settings when around people outside of their household, especially when other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain.
