Funeral service for Carl Stringer, 74, of Opelika, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 24, 2021, at Greater Peace Missionary Baptist Church, 650 Jeter Avenue, Opelika, AL 36801 with interment in Evergreen Cemetery, 1409 Monroe Avenue, Opelika, AL 36801, Reverend Clifford E. Jones will officiate.

Mr. Stringer, who passed away Saturday, July 17, 2021 at the Chapman Health and Rehabilitation Center in Alexander City, Alabama, was born October 6, 1946, in Lee County, Alabama.

Public viewing for Mr. Stringer will be Friday, July 23, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. (facial covering required) Mr. Stringer will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.

His precious memories will forever be cherished by: wife, Dorothy Gunn Stringer of Opelika, AL; three children, Kimberly Stringer Townsend, Alicia Stringer Purnell both of Montgomery, AL and Kirven Stringer of Opelika, AL; two grandchildren, Corlandt Townsend and Mason Purnell both of Montgomery, AL; three sisters, Annie Stringer, Margaret (Robert) Lee both of Opelika, AL, Jo Ann (Freddie) Johnson of Columbus, GA; two brothers, John T. (Elois) Stringer and Charles Stringer both of Opelika, AL; a god-son, Deon (Tabitha) Tilley of Pelham, AL; two god-grandchildren, Deon Tilley, Jr. and Dillon Tilley both of Pelham, AL; one step-sister, Bettye Jean Shamel of Fayetteville, GA; one sister-in-law, Bernice (Earnest, Jr.) Gunn of Opelika, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church members and friends.
