Freddie George “Duck” Dowdell Obituary

The funeral services for Freddie George "Duck" Dowdell, 77, of Auburn, AL, will be at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 2, 2008, at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Auburn, AL, with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Thomas Brown and Rev. Archie Jackson, III will officiate.
Mr. Dowell, who passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2008, at his residence, was born in Lee County, Alabama.
Survivors include: his wife, Eva Mae Dowdell; four children, Jessie Lee Dowdell, Jerry Lue Dowdell both of Auburn, AL, Mary Helen Brown of Kingston, NY, Ella Pearl (Moses) Felton of Auburn, AL; three sisters, Lula Floyd of Loachapoka, AL, Margaret Dowdell, Judy Morgan both of Rochester, NY; one brother, Jimmy Dowdell of Rochester, NY; fifteen grandchildren, Freddie D. Dowdell, Marquete Finley, James (Cynthia) Dowdell, Troy Philpot, David (Belinda) Dowdell, Alfreda (Earl) Whitted, Paula (Hardy) Shirley, Reginald Brown, Regina Brown, Monique Brown, Cassandra Lyles, Hayward Brown, Phyllis (Scottie) Nelms, Benjamin Felton, Morris Felton; three very devoted friends, Archie (Margaret) Jackson, Jr., Jewell (Linda) Philpot, Cecil Philpot, Sr.; a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Harris Funeral Home is directing.
