A sad passing for me, as one of my most important teachers has passed away. The importance of, the breadth and the depth of what I learned from Bob would take a book and cannot be summed up simply. He was a hard task master, a man of high standards and great talent, creativity, drive, and conviction. HIs wife Sherry played an important role as well. For me that was far beyond the special tuna fish recipe she shared at the wonderful lunches prepared for our breaks from construction. That recipe is till my favorite, and I still reproduce it today and think of them both while I eat. Sherry sustained us all with her kindness, hospitality and counter to Bob's gruff and demanding manner. Mr. Goff taught us that he preferred being original - of the origin, to being unique - one of a kind. As Bob was his student, he was both original and unique. I am merely one of Bob's students, still trying to meet his mark. Thank you for everything Bob. Auburn was a different place for your presence, as is the world.

Auburn lost more than an educator or architect. Thank you for your time, Bob but the 45 years I knew you didn't seem like enough.
