Terry Pitts Obituary
Funeral service for Mr. Terry Pitts, 76, of Brooklyn, NY, will be held at 12 p.m., Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Auburn AME Zion Church with interment in Westview Cemetery. Rev. Dr. Stephen Faulk will officiate. Masks are required.
Mr. Pitts, a former resident of Auburn, AL, passed away Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. He was preceded in death by his mother, Stella Pitts; a granddaughter, Briana Ashley Gray: a brother, Malon Pitts; as well as, two nephews, Brady Pitts Jr. and Bryant Randolph.
Public viewing will be held Friday from 2-6 p.m., at the funeral home. His remains will lie-in-state at the church one hour prior to the service.
He is survived by five loving children, Stanley Cooper, Tammie Cooper, Terrance (Tammy) Bandy all of Youngstown OH, Diane Johnson of Queens, NY and Nicole Gray of Staten Island, NY; three siblings, Emma Pitts of Smyrna, GA, Cleola Pitts Randolph of Auburn, AL and Brady Pitts of Columbus, GA; sixteen loving grandchildren and six great grandchildren; five loving nieces, one devoted nephew and a host of great nieces and nephews. He also leaves two special children, Randy Cooper and Lisa Hailey; along with his former wife, Mary Jo Bandy, other relatives and friends.
