Thomas "Tom" Braxton Bryant III

ORANGEBURG - Thomas "Tom" Braxton Bryant III, 87, of Orangeburg, S.C., passed away on February 4, 2025.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Dukes-Harley Funeral Home. At Tom's request, there will be no services. His ashes will be interred at Sunnyside Cemetery, along side his parents; son, Clay; and brother, Harry.

Born in Orangeburg, S.C., he was the son of Thomas B, Jr. and Cornelia Smoak Bryant, and the grandson of Thomas B. and Tallulah Ray Bryant, and Harry Lawton and Nellie Wannamaker Smoak. He was the father of Tom, Will, and Clay Bryant, and is survived by his wife, Linda; Tom and Will; daughter, Kristen Kemmerlin Pascoe; grandsons, Michael, John, and Nicholas Pascoe; sister-in-law, Bettis; niece, Hart Elliott; and nephews, Hap and Jack Bryant. He was predeceased by son, Clay and brother, Harry.

Tom graduated from Orangeburg High School, class of 1955, Washington & Lee University, in Lexington, Va., 1959, and its law school in 1961. He had practiced law in Orangeburg since 1961, was a member of the United States Army Reserve, a Captain in JAGC, and a lifelong Baptist, Democrat and rabid Detroit Tiger fan.

Memorials may be sent to the Orangeburg Calhoun Free Clinic, 141 Centre Street, Orangeburg, SC 29115.
