Virginia Auburn Cook "Dinky" Turner Obituary

1919-2008

Graveside services for Virginia Turner, 89, of Auburn will be 11:00AM, Monday, September 29, 2008 at Auburn Memorial Park Cemetery. The Reverend Hank Demous will officiate.

Mrs. Turner was born September 6, 1919 to the late Julius and Ola Belle Cook in Auburn, Alabama. She passed away on Friday, September 26, 2008 at her home in Auburn. She was preceded in death by her husband William Grady Turner, Sr. and her sisters: Edna McKee, Nellie Stough, Lilly May Mull, Germaine Rust, Thelma Lingufilt and two brothers: Marshall and Lester Cook. She loved puzzle books and was an avid Auburn Football fan.

Survivors include one son: Grady (Kay) Turner of Opelika, one daughter: Judy (Bobby) Trammell of Vestavia, two grandsons: Keith (Amy) Turner and Chris Trammell, three granddaughters: Kim (Michael) Renfroe, Kathy Cole and Kristy Crawford, thirteen great- grandchildren and several special nieces and nephews Barbara, Cindy, Byron, Calvin and Jack.

The Turner family would like to thank the Courtyard at Auburn Staff and Hospice of East Alabama.

In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of East Alabama.

Fredericks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
