She was born October 15, 1926 in Sweetwater to Pedro Alvarado and Guadalupe Guerrero.
Rosary will be said Sunday, Nov. 29, 2009, at 7 p.m. at Martinez-Smith Funeral Home. Services will be Monday, November 30, 2009, at 2 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
She is survived by son, Oscar Jimenez and wife Velma of Odessa; daughters, Victoria Jimenez, Belinda Navarette and husband Leroy both of Odessa, and Paula Canava and husband Ruben of Hobbs; brothers, Jesus Alvarado of Artesia, Mexico, Frederico (Lico) Alvarado, Delores Cervantes, Ernesto Cervantes, Jose Cervantes all of Odessa; sister, Lilia Rodriguez of Odessa; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services are entrusted to Martinez-Smith Funeral Chapels and Crematory.

THE LAST TIME I SAW MY MOTHER WAS IN DECEMBER 2008. I WENT TO GO SEE HER IN HOBBS AND TAKE HER A CHRISTMAS GIFT. BUT IN NOVEMBER 2008 WAS THE LAST TIME SHE CAME TO MY HOUSE. MY SISTER BELINDA AND I WE SAT WITH MY MOTHER AND WE TALKED. WE SHARED HAPPY TEARS AND SAD TEARS. SHE ASKED US TO DO ONE LAST THING FOR HER AND WE WERE MORE THAN HAPPY TO DO IT FOR HER. I MISS MY MOTHER VERY MUCH. I NEVER THOUGHT THAT I WOULD BE WITHOUT MY MOTHER. MISSING YOU SO MUCH MOM. LOVE YOU SO MUCH.
WE WILL NEVER FORGET OUR MOTHER'S FACE,THE SOUND OF HER VOICE, THE GENTLENESS OF HER TOUCH,THAT LET US KNOW THAT WE WERE LOVED. WE WILL NEVER FORGET THE STORIES SHE TOLD, THE TRADITIONS SHE HANDED DOWN,THAT LET US KNOW WHO WE ARE. WE WILL NEVER FORGET THE LESSONS SHE TAUGHT,THE THINGS SHE STOOD FOR, THEY ARE HER GIFT AND OUR LEGACY. WE WILL NEVER FORGET,AND WE WILL ALWAYS KNOW THAT WE HONORED HER VERY DAY IN HOW WE LIVE AND WHO WE ARE.

To Lisa Navarette's Family, I am sorry for the loss of your Mom Belen. My thoughts and prayers are with your family at this difficult time. She has gone before you'll to joint hands with her husband at the gates of heaven. If you had not seen her since Nov.2008 you were all in her heart till she took her last breath and loved everyone of you. That is what a MOM would do and no one can take that away.

The last time I saw Mom was Nov. 2008.We talked a long time.She told us how much she loved us and missed us.Mom asked me to do something for her and I did accomplish it till now.Mom came to me in a dream two days after the funeral Mom was with my Dad hand in hand Mom looked so bautiful andDad so handsome. They told me to try to let go and to go on with my family.Mom and dad were fine and on their way to a banquet.I belive they were going to the banquet where GOD was receiving Mom. I would like to Thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers. Thank You
