Jack Beckwith

ODESSA - Jackie (Jack) Ray Beckwith, 76, passed away Saturday, October 23, 2021, in Odessa. He was born November 10, 1944, to Lewis Allen Beckwith and Dorothy Bell Cameron and was the 5th of 6 children. Jack attended elementary school in Seagraves, TX. The family moved to Midland, TX after the death of his father, Lewis. Jack attended school in Midland and graduated from Midland High School in 1964. Jack went into the Army in 1965 and served as an MP during his enlistment. Upon discharge, he worked as a sheet metal worker for HB Smith, ABBCO, and contracted to other companies. He then trained to be a mechanic with Ford Motor Company while working for Sewell Ford. He later worked for B.F. Walker, Hobbs Trailers, Superior Trailers, Jack's Auto Repair, and Winches, Inc. Jack married the love of his life, June Roberts, on June 14, 1968, in Hobbs, NM. They had 3 children, Lewis Allen Beckwith (wife Shellie), Rebekah Melton (husband Michael), and John Beckwith. They were blessed with 4 grandchildren, Mistee Humphries (husband Haynes), Courtney Martin, Dakota Beckwith (fiancé Macee), and Leilei Beckwith; and 3 great grandchildren, Lucy and Roland Humphries, and Emilee Beckwith. He was a charter member of Bible Baptist Church and remained a member for 47 years. Jack taught Sunday School, was Church Treasurer, bus driver, and performed all the maintenance on the bus. Jack and June moved their membership to Home Line Baptist in Midland in November of 2020. Jack loved and served the Lord faithfully. Jack was preceded in death parents Lewis Allen Beckwith and Dorothy Beckwith Skidmore; brother Allen Ray Beckwith; sisters Doris Smith (Lefty), Wanda Reitzer (Jim), and Carol Bishop; grandmother Eula Mae Watson. Jack is survived by his wife, 3 children, 4 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and sister Sherly Loyd. A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00pm, Saturday, October 30, 2021, at Home Line Baptist Church, 3500 Anetta Drive, Midland, TX 79703, with Brother Robb Foreman officiating.
