Jimmy Linsley Obituary

ODESSA Jimmy Don ""Jim"" Linsley, age 57, of Odessa, passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2012 at Covenant Hospital in Lubbock. He was born in Haskell, Texas on July 3, 1954 to the late Elliot and Vera (Hunt) Linsley. He was raised as a boy in Aspermont. Later his family moved to Girvin and he graduated from McCamey High School. Jim had lived in Odessa since 1995. He worked all of his life in the oilfield and was currently a petroleum consultant.

Jim was a proud Texan. He was a big fan of the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed the outdoors - fishing and BBQ-ing. He also collected guns.

Survivors are his daughter; Stacey Silva and husband Rod of Weston, Fla.; sons: Jimmy Don Linsley II and Joel Huey Linsley, both of Odessa; two brothers; Jerald Linsley of Houston and Jack Linsley of Pennsylvania; sister; Janice Poorman of Houston; two grandsons; Anthony and Nathaniel Silva; and his ""grandpuppy"", Smokie.

In addition to his parents, one brother; Jeff Linsley, and one sister; Jean Linsley, precede Jim in death.

Memorial services are scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday, May 26, 2012 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel and condolences to the family may be made online at acreswestfuneral.com.
