Joe Foster Obituary

Odessa - Joe Foster always said he wanted to die young and leave a good lookin' corpse. After battling a lengthy illness, Joe was blessed by God when he passed away on April 20th at the age of 72.

Joe was born in Pampa, Texas and preceded in death by his parents Jack and Gloria Foster and brother, Rick Foster.

Joe is survived by his loving wife Candace Foster, his son Nash Elms, daughter Courtney Penley, and granddaughter Harper Elms. His sister Susan Brooks with whom, he shared his love for the Dallas Cowboys and texted every game, his brother Chuck Foster, many nieces and nephews and his best friend and very good boy, Oliver the maltipoo will miss him dearly.

Joe's favorite things in life all began with the letter "G"; golf, guitar and girls. When he married the love of his life, Candi, 39 years ago, he had to give up the girls and get a day job, but he spent many decades working weekends as a talented musician playing guitar and singing with the bands Shalako and Checkpoint along with his many musician friends. He accomplished two hole in one's on the golf course and retired from West Texas Gas in 2020.

He is so loved and missed. While his family is heartbroken, we take comfort in knowing he is no longer suffering. The family would like to thank Dr. J.B. Naidu, Dr. Kodi, Dr. Gandra, Christina Dorsett and the medical team at MCH LTAC.

"Love is a promise, love is a souvenir, once given never forgotten, never let it disappear," John Lennon.

In lieu of a memorial service, the family will host a celebration of life at a later date. We invite all that knew him to share their fondest memories with his family at [email protected]. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the ASPCA or your local animal shelter.
