Joel Melton Obituary
Joe was born March 6, 1954 in El Paso, TX to David C. Melton and Sue Ella Marie Combs.
Joe graduated from Permian High School and played on the basketball team.
Joe had many talents. He loved basketball and was a great swimmer. Joe was a good athlete and he loved hot rods and good 'ol Rock-n-Roll. Joe had the gift of gab and a strong love for animals. He was a very compassionate and loving person. Joe enjoyed playing the drums with his band and was also an auto body mechanic. Joe loved tinkering with and building cars and racing.
Joe leaves behind a loving sister Pamela Melton of Sacramento, CA and many friends that love him and will miss him.
Throughout Joe's life, he made many friends that will miss him as he enters his next destination.
Graveside Services will be at 4:00 pm, Thursday, May 19, 2016 at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Reverend Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating.

Joe has been a good friend for near 50 years. As teenagers, we both got our first job as sackers at Gibson's and learned the value hard work. We had a lot of good times growing up, and didn't get caught most of the time. Like his dad, he always had great cars. I still recall his first one, a beautiful gold '62 Impala SS. Thankfully, I was able to visit him when I was in town recently and we recalled those times. From talking with his dad, Dave, while sitting in the barber chair over the years, I know he cared for Joe dearly. Joe was one of my lifelong friends and will be missed.

Pam, Sorry to hear of Joe's passing. I remember when we were in elementary and junior high sneaking into his room or checking out what ever car he was working on in the garage.
