Elmerline Horton, age 86, of Glen Rock, on Thursday, September 18, 2014. Born and raised in Paterson, Elmerline had lived in Glen Rock since 1965. In her early years she worked at Josephine's Bridals in Paterson and later custom designed and created hand jeweled wedding gowns. She later worked as a crossing guard in Glen Rock and was a member of Cedar Cliff United Methodist Church, Haledon. Elmerline was the beloved wife of Emil Holvoet. Loving mother of Leslee Lukaszek and her husband John of Palmyra, VA, Lark Gaydos and her husband Robert of Howell, NJ, and Lance Holvoet and his wife Angelia of Williamsburg, VA. Dear grandmother of Tammy, Mandy, Lara, Allana, Kayci, Grant and Austin. Dearest great-grandmother of Alexis, Brianna and Gunner. Elmerline was predeceased by her sister Charlotte Ackerman. Beloved aunt to Dale Aruta and Carlton Ackerman, Randy, Brett, Craig and Scott Schmitz. Funeral will be at 10:30 AM on Monday, September 22, 2014 at the Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, 557 Lafayette Ave., Hawthorne. Interment will follow at Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-6 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the ASPCA, 424 East 92nd St., New York, NY 10128-6804 or to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
