Thomas "‘Lloyd’" Sebolt

1948 - 2008

ODESSA Thomas "Lloyd" Sebolt, 81, of Odessa, died Sunday, November 16, 2008, at his residence, surrounded by his family. He was born to Tom and Mary Sebolt in Goldwaithe, Texas and married Bertha Mae Hettenbach on November 5, 1948, in Odessa. They moved several times to surrounding areas and returned to Odessa in 1957.

Lloyd worked in the construction industry for many years in the West Texas area. He was active in The Boy Scouts of America serving as Scout Master for Troop 57 in Odessa for several years.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, November 18 in Odessa at Life Change Baptist Church at 1003 N. Texas with Pastor Johnny Thomason officiating. Interment will be in Western Roses Memorial Park, Midland. Arrangements are by Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his son, Larry Don Sebolt; his parents; and by brothers, Bill, Bob, Ronny, Raymond and Earl; and his sister, Jacqueline Tharp.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Bertha; his brother, Gene; and sister, Ann Smith and his life-long friend, Arbia Childress. He is also survived by his eight children, Robert and Gloria Sebolt of Corpus Christi, Texas; Linda and Terry Tuck of Flower Mound, Texas; Sharon and Bill Dutch of Clyde, Texas; Terry and Cynthia Sebolt of San Antonio, Texas; Ellen and Paul Smith, Barbara and William Richardson, James and Lynn Sebolt, Carolyn and Darrell Massey; and daughter-in-law, Tommie Sebolt, all of Odessa.

27 grandchildren, Sarah Banta, Stephaine Long, Ram, Laurie, Victor and Jessica Gonzalez, Heather Smith, Heath Pierce, Damon Bara, Denee and Thomas Sebolt, Amelia Bedrick, Paula Camacho, Curtis and Steven Richardson, Christi Solis, Desirea Richardson, Tina and Trina Goforth, Alie and Roxanne Kabler, James Russell, Serena, Kathryn and Shyann Sebolt and Phillip and Aurora Sebolt.

42 great-grandchildren, Nathan Banta, Hanna Long, Jacqueline and Mallory Gonzalez, A.J., Marc and Adrian Pena, Margo and Morgan Soliz, Jonna and Savanah Wilson, Morgan Smith, Jason and Montgomery Sebolt, Kara and Colby Pierce, Devyn Navarette, Paul and Charles Bedrick, Dia, Rita, Mykell Camacho and Vincent Camacho, II, Justin, Seth and Josh Richardson, Brittany and Brileigh Solis, Tyler and Preston Richardson, Trent Hartwig, Kaylee, Justin and Ashlie Bodwell, Lindsey and Barry Allen, Nicholas, James, Haley, Audra and Alyssa Sebolt and McKayla Sebolt-Benivides.
