Andrew Thomas Slebonick, 91, of Cecil, died Sunday, April 23, 2023 in Concordia Hospice of Washington.
He was born December 3, 1931 in Montour II, Cecil Township, a son of the late Andrew and Margaret O'Rourke Slebonick.
Andrew graduated from Cecil High School in 1950. He then served as a Private First Class in the U. S. Marines during the Korean War.
He was a member of Corpus Christi Parish, St. Mary Church, Cecil American Legion where he held many offices. He enjoyed bowling, Pittsburgh Pirate baseball, and was involved with the Boy Scouts and was a cub master.
Surviving are wife Dorothy Jean Slebonick of Cecil; children, Drew Slebonick. of Cecil; Patricia (Greg) Donella of Gladden; Mary Jean Slebonick of Cecil; Joseph Slebonick (Debbie Kuchera) of Cecil Twp.; Michael (Carmen) Slebonick of Wolcott, CT.; grandchildren, Andrea, Christine, Rachael, Sara, Brian, Miranda, Suzette, Deidre, Vanessa, and Michael, J.; great- grandchildren, Nicholas, Madison, Tyler, Alyssa, Bianca, Liam and Zachary.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Rose Marie Novak, Kathleen Shinsky, and Leona Long, a brother Robert Slebonick, and a great-granddaughter Hope Zirwas.
Friends will be received 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services, 3378 Millers Run Road (Rt. 50), where a blessing service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 27, 2023.
Interment will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to the Cecil American Legion Post 793, PO Box 93, Cecil, PA 15321 or Concordia Hospice of Washington 10 Leet Street, Washington, PA 15301.
Family requests attendees wear casual attire and Pittsburgh Pirate Shirts.
