Anna Banahasky, 91, of Finleyville, died Sunday, February 5, 2023, in Allegheny General Hospital.
She was born May 13, 1931, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late John and Rose Kowalski Cheplic.
Anna was a homemaker, an active member of St. Francis of Assisi Church, where she organized many spaghetti dinners, the former Ginger Hill Grange and the "Weeping Willows" singing group with her late husband. She also was a recipient of the Manifest the Kingdom Award through the Diocese of Pittsburgh.
Surviving are her son, Edward (Lien) Banahasky Jr. of Fountain Valley, Calif.; two daughters, Susan Banahasky of Lawrenceville and Anita (John) Wick of Orlando, Fla.; four grandchildren, Jackson, Katelan, Erica (Daniel) and Toby (Gary); six great- grandchildren, Madeline, William, Mary Agnes, Edward, Jonathan and Pippin; brother, George Cheplic; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are her husband, Edward Banahasky Sr.; brother, Tom Cheplic; and sister, Mary Sacco.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, February 10, in Kegel Funeral Home, Inc., David P. Kegel, supervisor, 3560 Washington Avenue, Finleyville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, February 11, in St. Francis of Assisi Church (St. John XXIII Parish), 3609 Washington Avenue, Finleyville.
Memorial donations can be made to a charity of one's choice.
