Carl Ray Wheeler Jr., 83, of Washington, died Tuesday, October 12, 2021, in the Donnell House.
He was born April 28, 1938, a son of the late Carl Ray Wheeler Sr. and Pearl Virginia Cummins Wheeler.
Carl was a 1957 graduate of Trinity High School.
He worked as a driver for UPS for 30 years before his retirement in 1996.
Carl's greatest passion was spending time with his family. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and attending his grandchildren's sporting events, and he was always "fixing stuff."
He was a member of the Elks, B.P.O.E. #776, Washington, and the Teamster's Local Union #585.
On March 23, 1962, in Plainfield, Ill., he married the love of his life, Joy A. Wright, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Bruce Ray (Bridgetta) Wheeler of Sarver; two daughters, Carla Faye Walters of League City, Texas, and Amy Virginia (Chris) Wagner of Washington; seven grandchildren, Matthew (Amanda) and Chelsea Walters, Nathan, Carae and Luke Wagner, and Carson and Caitlynn Wheeler; a great-grandson, Noah Walters, and another on the way; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, are two brothers, Ron and Don Wheeler; and a sister, Mona Wheeler.
Friends will be received from 4 until 7 p.m., the time of a homegoing service, Thursday, October 14, in the Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington. All other services are private.
The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to Concordia Hospice of Washington Donnell House, 10 Leet Street, Washington, PA 15301; the Caring Mission, 817 N. Main Street, Washington, PA 15301; or Ramps of Grace, 134 Wayne Street, Claysville, PA 15323.

So sorry for your loss . I enjoyed working with Carl and Joy in selling their home, awhile back. A life well lived , he will be greatly missed by friends and family. Prayers for comfort and peace .
