Catherine Husk Obituary

Catherine Louise Kudas Husk, 86, of Washington, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2025, in her home. She was born April 12, 1939, in Bentleyville, a daughter of the late Anthony Kudas and Ann Meno Kudas. Catherine was a 1957 graduate of Bentleyville High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education Mathematics with a minor in History from California State Teacher's College in 1961. She was a math teacher and taught at Trinity High School from 1967 to 1972 and Avella High School from 1979 to 1989. She took time off from teaching when her children were born to raise them. Catherine was Roman Catholic by faith. She was a lifelong member of St. Hilary Church since 1962. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, was a past Cub Scout Den Mother, and a member of a quilting club. She enjoyed reading, babysitting, camping, specifically at Cutty's Family Campground in Champion, and trips to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She also enjoyed helping at J&D Sellers Winery and Vineyard in Eighty Four. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren. On September 3, 1960, she married James Husk, who survives. They were married for 65 years. Also surviving are three sons, James A. (Elizabeth) Husk, John R. Husk (Dorothy Harvison), and Joseph G. Husk (Jodi Hardway); four grandchildren, Jonathan Husk, Jeremy James Webster-Husk, Connor M. Husk and Duncan R. Husk; two sisters, Antoinette (the late Gary) Ames and Joan (the late Bruce) Scicchitano; and many nieces, nephews, friends and family. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, September 21, 2025, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, September 22, 2025, in Immaculate Conception Church, St. James Parish, 119 West Chestnut Street, Washington, with principal celebrant and homilist Father Alec Scheuer, and Father John Ferguson concelebrating. . Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Immaculate Conception Church, Avery United Methodist Church, and Our Lady of Lourdes Church.
