Chris P. Moniodes, 82, of Bridgeville, passed away Monday, June 19, 2023.
He was born March 17, 1941, in Canonsburg, a son of the late Pete and Irene Hartofilax Moniodes.
On July 23, 1967, he married Margaret L. "Peggy" Sgro, who survives.
Mr. Moniodes was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars National Post. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #0126 and Order of AHEPA Post #156.
He was a retired employee of the former McGraw Edison and Cooper Industries, Canonsburg, where he worked for 33 years.
Surviving, along with his wife, Peggy, is a son, Christopher (Adriana) Moniodes; two grandchildren, Christopher and Grace Moniodes; five brothers, John (Olga) Moniodes, William (the late Kalliope) Moniodes, James (Rita) Moniodes, George Moniodes and Peter Gus (Donna) Moniodes. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 23, in the Warchol Funeral Home, Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville, 412-221-3333, where a Trisagion Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday evening. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 24, in All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, 601 East McMurray Road, Canonsburg. Prior to the service, additional visitation will be held at the church from 10 to 11 a.m. Interment will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.
