Christina Gabonay Obituary

Christina Gabonay, 67, of New Salem, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2015, in Uniontown Hospital.
She was born January 14, 1948, in Daisytown, a daughter of Albina Polidori Saxon and the late John Saxon.
Mrs. Gabonay was a 1965 graduate of Beth-Center High School in 1965 and a 1968 graduate of California University of Pennsylvania.
She was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Brownsville, where she taught CCD classes for many years.
Mrs. Gabonay was a teacher for Brownsville Area, Hempfield Area and Greater Latrobe Area Schools Districts.
Left to cherish her memory, in addition to her mother, are her loving husband of 47 years, William J. Gabonay Jr.; daughters Lauren (Tim) Terhorst and Erika Gabonay (Alex Grantz); son William C. (Chrissy) Gabonay; grandsons Timothy Terhorst, Justin Terhorst and Emrys Gabonay; and two brothers, John Saxon and Alex Saxon.
A Funeral Mass will be held at noon Saturday, October 3, in St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Brownsville, with the Rev. Timothy T. Kruthaupt as celebrant.
In lieu of other tokens of sympathy, memorials may be made to UPCI/UPMC Cancer Center Development, UPMC Cancer Pavilion, Suite 1B, 5150 Centre Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15232.
Arrangements are entrusted to Andrew D. Ferguson Funeral Home and Crematories Inc., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown.
