Clara Macugoski Ivanac

Clara Macugoski Ivanac, 94, of Avella, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2025, in WVU Medicine Weirton, W.Va. Clara was born September 16, 1930, in Hanlin Station, a daughter of the late Joseph Macugoski and Antonina Mysiur Macugoski. Many will remember Clara for her love of the outdoors, always sitting on her porch, in addition to gardening especially, being able to can, baking, and her enjoyment of crocheting, reading and coloring. In addition to her parents, Clara was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ivanac; and siblings, Joe, Ed and Steve Macugoski, Stella Bertovich, Jennie Orenchuk and Mary Orenchuk. Clara is survived by her four children: Sharlene Ford and husband Gerald of Ravenel, S.C.; Charles Ivanac of Burgettstown; Craig Ivanac and wife Debbie of Zanesville, Ohio; and Gerald Ivanac and wife Brenda Waters of Burgettstown; nine grandchildren; 10 great- grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 16, in the James Funeral Home, Follansbee, W.Va., (304) 527-1717. A private family service will be held Friday, January 17, with a private interment to follow at St. John Cemetery Haven of Rest, Colliers, W.Va. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, c/o James Funeral Home, 1245 Main Street, Follansbee, WV 26037.
