Daniel A. Moroco Jr.

Daniel A. Moroco Jr. of Canonsburg passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2016, after a two-year battle with amyloidosis.
Surviving are his loving wife of five years, Debra Volanski Moroco; beloved sons Daniel Phillip Moroco of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Andrew Phillip Moroco of San Francisco, Calif.; through his blended family, Jessica (Erik) Greico of Bridgeville, Kaitlin Volanski of Greenfield, Andrew Volanski of Greenfield and Jacob Volanski, and grandchildren Amelie, Dexter and Kurt Greico.
Also surviving are loving sisters Diana (Wayne) Gill of Pulaski and Valerie (Rex) Woodman of Barnstaple, England; nephew Joseph (Missy) Gill; nieces Ashley (Jacob) Buzard, Claire (Richard) Goodwill and Amanda (Dean) Tucker; as well as many cousins and extended family.
Deceased are his beloved parents, Daniel A. Moroco Sr. and Helen Williams Moroco, and beloved sister Judith Moroco.
He was a 1970 graduate of St. Mark Seminary High School in Erie. He received a bachelor of science in international affairs from Georgetown University in 1974, and a master's in business administration in finance and accounting from Penn State University. He also led a distinguished 30-year military career in the U.S. Marine Corps and reserves, achieving the rank of colonel, before retiring.
In his civilian life, he led a distinguished career as an international banker, traveling the world, including a four-year residence in San Paolo, Brazil. Included in his career path, he was a senior analyst for the USMC Intelligence Division at Quantico, Va. Concluding his career that brought him back to Western Pennsylvania, he retired with the U.S. Treasury Department as a bank examiner for the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. He was proficient in four foreign languages: Portuguese, Italian, German and Spanish.
Mr. Moroco was a true friend, beloved by many friends beyond his family. He was a faithful Catholic who deeply loved his faith and his Lord.
Friends and family are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Beinhauer Funeral Home, 2828 Washington Road, McMurray, 724-941-3211. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, December 5, in Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church, Meadow Lands.
