David Prevost Obituary

David A. Prevost, 54, of Scenery Hill, formerly of Avella, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2016, in UPMC-Shadyside hospital, Pittsburgh.
He was born April 4, 1962, in Avella, a son of the late George A. and Dorothy Marie Ward Prevost.
Mr. Prevost attended Avella High School.
He worked as a parts salesman for Woltz and Wind Ford Dealership of Heidelberg for 13 years, before moving to Indianapolis, Ind., where he lived for seven years and became a member of United Steelworkers Union.
Mr. Prevost moved back to the area in 2007 and was working at TA Robinson of Bridgeville as a heavy equipment mechanic and was recently promoted to shop supervisor.
He was a member of Avella Volunteer Fire Department since the 1980s, a past member of Polar Star Mutual Benefit Society, and a social member of American Legion Post 643 and Avella Sportsmen's Club, all of Avella.
Mr. Prevost loved working on cars and was his happiest when he was laying in the dirt under a car. He enjoyed spending time with his family and watching NASCAR.
On March 30, 2001, he married Kathy Wicker, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, David A. Prevost II of Brooklyn, N.Y.; a daughter, Bethany R. Prevost of Holyoke, Mass.; two stepsons, James T. Wratten Jr. of Verona and Eugene L. Wratten of Indianapolis; four brothers, Harry (Mary) Prevost of Burgettstown, George Prevost of Avella, Robert (Sherry) Prevost of Attica, Kan., and Lewis Prevost of Washington; two sisters, Sandra Shekerko of Cross Creek Township and Georgene (Don) Czap of Kountze, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Jerome A. Stefkovich Funeral Home Inc., 18 Campbell Street, Avella, PA 15312, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 16. Burial will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.

David was a great friend and co-worker. He was always willing to help with anything. He is loved and will be greatly missed.
