Dean R. Gindlesperger age 79, of Washington, passed away unexpectedly from injuries sustained in a fall, Sunday, January 1, 2023, in The Greenery with his family by is side.
He was born June 1, 1943, in Rockwood, a son of the late Robert and Ruth Baker Gindlesberger.
Being raised in Berlin, Pa., had graduated from the Berlin Brothersvalley High School in 1961. After high school, Dean was employed for Allegheny Airlines and US Air in fleet service and ticket counter work, retiring after 30 years of service.
He was a devoted Catholic and member of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church of St. Oscar Romero Parish, in Meadowlands, where for 15 years he served as custodian and Jack of all Trades.
Dean lived for 4 years in Canonsburg and the past 40 years in Washington.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, crossword puzzles, and the New York Yankees. He was an avid drag racing fan and driver, winning many trophies in the sport, liked old cars and was a member of the National Rifle Association. Dean loved being with his family and his dogs Duchess, Kenny and Hudson.
On June 11, 1964, he married Jean George, who survives after 58 years of marriage. Also left behind to cherish his memory are his beloved children, Matthew Robert Gindlesberger and his wife Emily of Irwin, and Michelle Lee Gindlesberger of Washington; his grandson, Christopher Dean Gindlesberger; a great- granddaughter, Charlie Michelle Gindlesberger.
Friends and family are welcome 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 5, 2023, in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra LFD owner/supervisor, 304 W. Pike St., Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where departing prayers will be recited at 9:20 a.m. Friday, January 6.. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church , Canonsburg. Interment will be private.
