Dennis J. Sablo

Dennis J. Sablo, 67, of Morgan, South Fayette Township, died Monday, October 28, 2024, in his home. He was born September 6, 1957, in Canonsburg, a son of the late Phillip and Mary Bell Sablo. Dennis was a 1976 graduate of Chartiers- Houston High School. Following graduation, he went to work at Kmart in Washington then Bridgeville and McMurray until the store closed. He then worked for Kohls in Washington and was a van driver for Milakar Transportation for area schools. Mr. Sablo enjoyed auto racing and often went to Pittsburgh Motor Speedway (PMS) in Imperial. For many years, Dennis played Santa on Christmas Eve for his nieces, nephews and kids of all ages. On October 2, 1993, he married Amy O'Bryon, who survives. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a brother, Phillip Sablo Jr. (Marsha) of Boston, Mass.; his father-in-law, Harold O'Bryon of Canonsburg; sisters-in- law, Mary Beth DeGennaro (David) Washington, and Dolores O'Bryon Danzinger (Elmer) of McDonald; and several nieces, nephews, great- nieces, great-nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, a brother-in- law, Jeffrey O'Bryon, is deceased. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 5, in the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 6, in Chartiers Hill United Presbyterian Church, 2230 Washington Road, Canonsburg, PA 15317, with the Rev. Peggy Shannon officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Chartiers Hill United Presbyterian Church.
