Doneal Marsette

Doneal Marsette, 64, of McDonald, Cecil Township, passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2025, in his home. He was born July 13, 1961, in Newark N.J., a son of the late Alan and Dolores Cavendish Marsette. Doneal proudly served with the United States Army, being deployed to Iraq, Kuwait among other areas as a rifleman. He received many campaign medals including the Global War on Terrorism Medal, the Air Forces Reserve Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, and a Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon among many others, prior to his honorable discharge. He had been employed at Sherwood Nursery, and prior to that the former Kingdom Manor nursing home. Doneal lived most of his life in the Cecil Township area, was a Christian, and had two cats, Tigger and Bella. On January 24, 2012, he married Christina Pettit, who survives. Also left behind to cherish his memory are his beloved children: Angela (James) Scott, James and Edward Scott; Sarah, David and Dion Marette; and Sean, Cordell, Doneal and Savannah Marsette; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; his siblings, Diane Gilmore, Gwendolyn Wright- Franklin, Sharon Franklin, Herman Franklin, Elaine Franklin Marsette, Francina Frankin, Robert Taylor Franklin, Melinda Patterson Franklin, Michaelo Boone Franklin, and David Jacob Franklin; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased is his brother, Alan Marsette, who passed away in 2018. Interment, with full military honors by the VFW Post 191 Honor Guard and the United States Army, will be accorded at 1:30 p.m. Monday, December 15, in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.
